Atlas of the wounded buildings
The artist walks through a European city, along one of the many streets where less than a century ago the buildings were destroyed by bombing and marked by war. It is precisely these traces he is looking for, trying to read the buildings as though they were a book. The evidence, however, is disappearing: the buildings have been rebuilt, renovated, plastered over; the bullet holes can barely be made out. And yet they speak of a past that is not remote.
