Nicoletta Grillo
Nicoletta Grillo is an artist and researcher based in Milan and Brussels. Her artistic practice focuses on the connections between collective and individual memory, using mainly photography and moving images to explore the resonances between past and present, public and intimate spaces, territories and individuals. She has exhibited at venues such as Careof (Milan), Fondazione Stelline (Milan), the SUPSI library (Mendrisio), Focus (Lugano) and Palazzo Martinengo (Brescia). She is one of the winners of the “L’Italia è un desiderio” prize, promoted by the Ministry of Culture and MUFOCO in 2023. Her book “Noi” was published by Boites Editions in 2022, while “Photography and Invisible Borders” is forthcoming from Brill. After studying architecture and photography, she earned a PhD on the representation of border landscapes and currently teaches at Hasselt University in Belgium.
