Valentina Berardinone

Naples, 1929 - Milan, 2024

Valentina Berardinone lived and worked in Milan. Throughout her artistic practice, she experimented with various techniques and media—from drawing to sculpture to art film—and participated in avant-garde exhibitions such as *Campo Urbano* (Como, 1969). She has created important Super 8 art films centered on self-representation, self-perception, the inability to communicate, and the relationship between the human body and technological tools. The Museo del Novecento in Milan dedicated the exhibition Il cinema di Valentina Berardinone (Valentina Berardinone’s Cinema), featuring a discussion with the director and a film screening, to this phase of her career (2019).
