Foglie di fico

The artist places himself inside a bush of fig leaves made of concrete and iron, remaining motionless for several hours. Only a portion of his legs is visible, making it hard for the audience to tell whether this is a person or simply a mannequin. Through a strenuous exercise in cancelling movement, the human body blends with the plant body, and seemingly opposite rhythms draw close until they synchronise.
