Otolab, Acrossing Luma, 2015 — audiovisual environmental installation

This immersive audiovisual installation is the outcome of the creative workshop that the Otolab collective led in June at the Museo della Scienza e della Tecnologia. “Crossing, Mutation and Change” was the overall theme that guided the young creatives in developing a personal project, each part of the collective work on show.
The installation takes the form of a suspended tunnel, set between two large ship hulls placed side by side. Crossing this space generates changes in the visual and acoustic perception of reality. As soon as visitors enter, their mere presence triggers sounds that produce projections, which in turn influence the course of the sound in an unpredictable, endless feedback loop. Visitors create their own soundtrack, charged with unrepeatable visions.
