Rythmòs and Gestus with the schools
A school-to-work placement that took students inside two exhibition projects — Rythmòs and Gestus — through performance, cultural mediation and podcasting.
During 2021 Video Sound Art involved fourth-year students on the architecture course at Liceo Artistico Boccioni and fifth-year students at Liceo Volta in Milan in the making of two exhibition projects: Rythmòs and Gestus.
The programme for transversal skills and orientation led the students through a process of coming closer to the world of contemporary art, working alongside the team, the educators and the festival’s guest artists. After a series of introductory meetings, the students chose which activities to take part in among performance, mediation and podcast.
For the XI edition, at the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale and the Planetario Ulrico Hoepli, the artist Cecilia Mentasti presented the performance Safari (not the exception but the rule), the outcome of the collaboration between the Video Sound Art team and the students: during the performance, visitors were guided through the complexity that lies behind the museum world.
