Metaforas de un horizonte

The series of photographs portrays two extreme landscapes of Chile: the northern Atacama Desert and southern Patagonia. These are frontier places, marked by territorial disputes, difficult to control, where the violence of nature makes itself felt. The people we see in the photographs are passersby, their backs turned to the camera, in a position of unfamiliar trust. The horizon, then, is—according to the artist—an imaginary line between two very distant points, although in the photographs it is also a point of convergence: the horizon is the same for the camera and for the stranger being portrayed.
