For its eighth edition, Video Sound Art festival reopened the doors of the Albergo Diurno Venezia, the 1920s service centre for travellers designed by the architect Portaluppi beneath the central Piazza Oberdan.
Mine is an explicit quotation of the film of the same name by the video artist Ali Kazma (Istanbul, 1971), and the continuation of an inquiry into the underground by artists who dig into the real, exploring human activity in relation to gaps and intervals in space and time.
Kazma was the protagonist of the edition with more than twenty video works, including a new production. In dialogue with the video works, the new sculptural pieces in ceramic and porcelain by Diego Cibelli, winner of the open call, Oli Bonzanigo and Caterina Morigi, produced during the artist residency run in collaboration with the Istituto Giovanni Caselli, home of the first Real Fabbrica della Porcellana, and the Museo di Capodimonte.
