Giulio Frigo
Vicenza, 1984
Giulio Frigo lives and works in Milan, where he earned his degree from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. He later earned his degree from UCLA in Los Angeles. Currently one of the most promising young Italian artists in the field of painting, he is acclaimed for his exploration of the modulation of light and his study of color, which have enabled him to achieve innovative heights in the realm of artistic representation. Giulio Frigo views painting as a performative act; his figurative paintings—which focus on technique, materials, and other traditional concerns—are brought to life by an abstract, modulated light.
Since 2012, the artist has been represented in Italy by the Francesca Minini Gallery, where he held a solo exhibition titled “360 780 nm” in 2015. His work has been featured in group exhibitions at: Brand New Gallery, Milan; Centro de Desarrollo de las Artes Visuales, Havana; Open Mia, Bergamo; Benetton Collection, Venice; Cairo Prize, Milan; The Workbench, Milan; San Francesco Museum, Republic of San Marino; Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation, Venice; Moroso Award for Contemporary Art, Venice; GAM—Galleria d’Arte Moderna, Milan; Giorgio and Isa de Chirico Foundation, Rome.
