Driant Zeneli

In an attempt to get up

2021

Driant Zeneli, In an attempt to get up, 2021 — performance
A continuous and tireless effort to get back on one's feet. In front of a live audience, Driant Zeneli playfully redefines the concepts of failure and utopia, focusing on the characters from the video work How Deep Can a Dragonfly Swim in the Ocean?, which was on view as part of the Gestus exhibition project (Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi, Venice, 2021): the dragonfly and the octopus that holds it captive in the depths of the ocean. An act of collective reflection and participation in which actions, sounds, and voices blend together to transcend boundaries and evoke unexplored possibilities. Setting the pace of the performance was the robotic trumpet created by musician Giorgio Distante, who composed the film's soundtrack.
