Ensemble Kotoji

Founded in 2007 by Takeshi Demise, a pupil of Koji Nakamura, the Kotoji ensemble is made up of almost 20 percussionists united by a passion for the Japanese drum and by the search for an authentic sound – as the group’s name itself suggests, “the way of the sound of taiko”. Since 2010 Kotoji has given more than 60 performances in many contexts – institutional events, festivals and theatre shows – in Italy and abroad, including at the British Museum and Alexandra Palace in London.
