A pH of 7 on the acidity scale corresponds to a neutral value, which is necessary for plant growth in hydroponic cultivation. The installation presents us with a domestic and artificial version of nature: the plants grow above ground, without sunlight or soil.<i><\/i><\/span>\n<span class=\"s1\"><em>A lively, mechanical entity, NFT pH7 is a neutral medium: neither too basic nor too acidic, its pH ironically speaks to the theoretical balance of a purely artificial construct. <\/em>\nHo\u00ebl Duret<br\/><\/span>NFT pH7\u2014a video, painting, and the construction of a greenhouse with an irrigation system\u2014created for the spaces of the Institut fran\u00e7ais Milano, evokes the pictorial tradition of landscape painting through the reconstruction of a natural system that is ostensibly domestic.
