The series includes the film <em>Calligraphy<\/em>, in which the gestures of the Turkish calligrapher \u00d6mer Faruk Dere are brought into focus from different angles. The human body is portrayed in the continuous personal effort to ensure its own continuity through action. The calligrapher is filmed sharpening his writing tool and tracing on a white sheet the characters and symbols of traditional Islamic art. The gestures are precise and disciplined, testifying to the high level of skill required.
