Kazma investigates the value of human activity across different spheres \u2013 economic, industrial, scientific, medical, social and artistic \u2013 bringing out aspects of reality that often remain hidden. He is particularly interested in socially significant spaces, places of production, industries and the ritual, repetitive actions of everyday life. Through his video series, the artist raises fundamental questions about the meaning of work and of human activity. Ali Kazma represented Turkey at the 55th Venice Biennale \u2013 Pavilion of Turkey in 2013. His solo exhibitions include Istanbul Modern, Istanbul (2025); Nouveau Mus\u00e9e National de Monaco, Monaco (2023); Ex Albergo Diurno Venezia, Milan (2018); Jeu de Paume, Paris (2017); CAPRI, D\u00fcsseldorf (2015); and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington (2010). Group exhibitions and biennials include the Fondation Cartier pour l\u2019Art Contemporain and Foto Arsenal Wien (2025); MAST, Bologna (2024); BienalSur (Buenos Aires, 2023); the 6th Kuandu Biennale (Taipei, 2018); the 7th Moscow International Biennale for Contemporary Art (2017); MAXXI (2016); the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Art Contemporain de Lyon (2013); and the 30th S\u00e3o Paulo Biennial (2012).
