Residencies
Video Sound Art organises artistic residencies in collaboration with museums, historical archives and cultural institutions.
The artists, selected through an open call, have the opportunity to use the spaces and materials made available by the venue to produce a new work. During the residency they are accompanied by Video Sound Art’s curatorial, technical and communication team and external collaborators – researchers, producers, craftsmen.
The residencies that have been realised have mainly focused on the processing of materials – bronze, stucco, porcelain – and have counted on the participation of reference institutions, such as the Fonderia Artistica Battaglia, the Restoration Laboratory of the Regional Gallery of Sicily in Palazzo Abatellis (PA) and the Giovanni Caselli Ceramic and Porcelain Rare Arts Institute at the Real Fabbrica di Capodimonte (NA).
In recent years, the focus has expanded to other expressive languages. In 2020, the Historical Archive of the Italian Touring Club made its materials available to construct new narratives of the collection, while in 2022 the residency proposed a reflection on performance practice.
