THE MAN INTO THE MAP
The 5th edition of Video Sound Art Festival, with Artistic Direction by Laura Lamonea, for the second year at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan, hosts selections and new productions guided by the biennial theme THE MAN INTO THE MAP, inaugurated in 2014. The artistic interventions of Video Sound Art took place around one of the most important symbols of the museum: the Transatlantico Biancamano. This year, in fact, the Polene area, the Sala Biancamano and, naturally, the Transatlantico facade were animated by the works of Video Sound Art artists, true excellences on the international scene.
The new Video Sound Art productions created for the fifth edition of the festival are the result of collaborations with young talents, established artistic realities and technological institutes: I meet you, I remeber You” (2015), a video-olfactive installation inspired by the images of some films from the Prelinger Archive, was born from the collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano; “Bodymap” (2015), from an idea by Laura Lamonea and Ivan Casagrande Conti, was born from the encounter between new technologies, classical forms of representation and a sociological investigation on the theme of rituals and human rituality. Among the protagonists of this edition, the Otolab collective who created the audiovisual environmental installation “Acrossing Luma” (2015), the result of the creative workshop held in June on the theme “Attraversamenti, Mutazione e Cambiamento” (Crossings, Mutation and Change) and Davide Angheleddu, “La mappa del Blériot” (2015), a singular two-dimensional map of the Blériot XI aircraft. The illustrator Beppe Giacobbe is back, who, in collaboration with Nobu Lab, is creating “Mare Senza”, a videomapping on the façade of the Transatlantico. The young artists involved include Francesco Briganti and the duo Calembour.
